DSport Magazine Tests the K-Mon Knock Monitoring System
"THERE ARE MANY GREMLINS that can plague an engine and its performance. Detonation is perhaps one of the most notorious and dangerous of these gremlins. Eliminating detonation from a tune is now easier than ever before. With the Gizzmo K-MON in place, detonation can be easily located and dealt with properly...."

Subject: DSport Project GT-R Hits 1031whp; Thanks to You!
It’s finally happened. Yesterday,
DSport magazine’s Project GT-R
finally cracked the 1000 horsepower mark on the DynoJet 248 at MD
Automotive in Westminster, California. At 2.65 kg/cm2 of boost
pressure, the GT-R delivered 1031 peak horsepower (@8400rpm) and 673
lb-ft of torque (@6900rpm). This performance came without the
assistance of nitrous-oxide. With some fine tuning, we expect to
eventually realize 1050~1100wph.
This accomplishment could not have happened without the support of
the manufacturers and tuners that helped along the way. Special
thanks goes to Cosworth for going above and beyond with the machine
work support, to ARP for the custom L19-alloy head studs that keep
this high-boost 2.8-liter together, to Gizzmo Electronics for the
electronic boost controller that delivered rock-stable pressures, to Hypertune for the racing intake manifold and throttle body, to TOMEI
for the big 290-degree intake cam, and to Troy, Koji and Peter at XS
Engineering for the invaluable fabrication, tuning and
troubleshooting support.
Realizing over 1000 horsepower at the wheels was one of the two
major project goals. The next goal will be to see this 3300-pound GT-R
run in the 8s on BFGoodrich Drag Radial Tires.
Thank you all for your continued support,
Michael Ferrara
